In November of 2012, Macy’s stood by Trump despite over 580,000 people signing a petition urging them to dump Donald because of his ‘especially unpleasant, nasty and despicable behavior’
“In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”
When you tell the truth in today’s world, you’re vilified, unless you’re a Left-leaner. Recently, Donald Trump stated that a lot of illegal aliens coming across our border are rapists, drug dealers, gang bangers, murderers, etc., and he is right on target. They are! He didn’t say they all were, but his statement has been misconstrued by the media and the Liberal and Progressive masses. Seems to me he’s a threat to them, the Democrats and even a lot of RHINOS, politically speaking. Let’s look at the recent “anti-Trump” attack from the Left, shall we?
In 2012, it was Progressive Leftist group SignOn.org who petitioned against Donald Trump, where in a November 2012 article (just after the second rigged election), Macy’s was strong-armed by SignOn.org to get rid of Trump’s clothing line in all Macy’s stores. Macy’s refused, and here is an excerpt…
“Macy’s CEO Terry Lundgren has contacted Angelo Carusone, the person behind the petition at SignOn.org, to say the retailer plans to continue to work with Trump because it believes in free speech and choice for customers.”
Another excerpt from the article stated…
“NBC’s Brian Williams read out Trump’s comments on his show and accused Donald Trump of having ‘driven well past the last exit to relevance’.”
Why would Macy’s leave it up to “free speech” and their “customers”, and free market back in 2012, but do a complete 180° now?
Donald Trump can now have the last laugh because it is Williams who lost his show, and who also lost all relevance and credibility with his incessant lies about his so-called “heroics”. It’s true what they say: “He who laughs last, laughs best.”
Now it’s another Progressive Leftist group, MoveOn.org (who unsuccessfully petitioned Congress not to impeach Bill Clinton), petitioning Macy’s to sever ties with Donald Trump because of what Trump correctly stated about the caliber of some illegal aliens coming into this country.
Getting back to this latest story (shown below), lots of people are defiantly severing ties with Macy’s by refusing to shop there, some shredding their Macy’s Credit Cards because of Macy’s playing politics. It will be interesting to see if this purely political move by Macy’s will cut into their profits because of a) no longer carrying Donald Trump’s business clothing line, and b) outraged customers severing ties and will no longer shop at Macy’s.
If these actions do cut into their bottom line, I’m thinking Macy’s investors will probably have something to say about it. Why else would Macy’s continue to sell Trump clothing under the guise of “on sale items” instead of returning every last piece of clothing to Trump ASAP? They want to capture every last dollar they can first. Let’s see what the free market dictates regarding Macy’s…
Macy’s will end business relationship with Donald Trump

More than 728,000 people signed a Moveon.org petition calling on Macy’s to ditch the Donald — to sever its ties with Donald Trump, the real estate mogul-turned-celebrity designer-turned-Republican presidential candidate.
And Wednesday morning, the national department store chain announced that it was doing just that.
“Macy’s is a company that stands for diversity and inclusion,” the company said in a statement. “We have no tolerance for discrimination in any form. We welcome all customers, and respect for the dignity of all people is a cornerstone of our culture. We are disappointed and distressed by recent remarks about immigrants from Mexico. We do not believe the disparaging characterizations portray an accurate picture of the many Mexicans, Mexican Americans and Latinos who have made so many valuable contributions to the success of our nation. In light of statements made by Donald Trump, which are inconsistent with Macy’s values, we have decided to discontinue our business relationship with Mr. Trump and will phase-out the Trump menswear collection, which has been sold at Macy’s since 2004.”
Trump responded with his own statement, suggesting that he was breaking up with them first anyway. It read in part: “I have decided to terminate my relationship with Macy’s because of the pressure being put on them by outside sources. While selling Trump ties and shirts at Macy’s is a small business in terms of dollar volume, my principles are far more important and therefore much more valuable. ”
He took a couple swipes on his way out the door, though, adding that he has “never been happy about the fact that the ties and shirts are made in China” and that if he starts a new product line of his own, “I would insist that they are made in America.”
Once the Trump-branded merchandise is gone from the stores, that’s it. Collectors can still purchase his menswear — on sale! — via the Macy’s website. The decision does not effect the Ivanka Trump collection, which Macy’s also sells.
