I haven’t blogged in awhile, but I really miss it.  I felt this is the best time to post something important to all of us…

Now more than ever, we need to be prepared for whatever comes our way, whether it be floods, upcoming storms, earthquakes, etc.  Every day, we hear of hazards occurring around the world.  I don’t know about you, but I’d like to be aware of them as they occur, not when the media decides to report them to us; some of which we never hear of.

There is a wealth of information here at HEWS (Humanitarian Early Warning Service), link below, which is a global multi-hazard watch service so we can all be well informed and better prepared when [and if] disaster strikes.  There are dedicated pages to the following hazards around the world, and they’re in real-time:  Floods, Storms, Locust, Volcanoes, Seismic/Earthquake Activity, Weather and even a Hazards Calendar.

At the bottom of each page, there are links to other relevant sites where you can get up-to-the-minute information from the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, World Meteorological Organization (WMO), just to name a few.  There are also links to Flood, Storm, Locust, Volcano, Seismic and Weather Monitoring sites.  It’s like a global one-stop shopping mall of important weather and disaster information…

This world is experiencing severe earth changes, and it pays to be aware of them and to be prepared.  I’m preparing, especially with Hurricane Irene heading this way.  May God keep us all safe, today and always…
