The Nolan Chart is a political diagram popularized by the American Libertarian, David Nolan. He reasoned that virtually all human political action can be divided into two general categories: economic and personal. He developed the chart to illustrate the claim that libertarianism represents both economic freedom and personal freedom (as he defined the terms), in graphic contrast to left-wing “liberalism,” which, according to Nolan, advocates only “personal freedom”, and right-wing “conservatism,” which, according to Nolan, advocates only “economic freedom”.

Judging by the outcome of your answers (Conservative / Centrist), according to this online test, you call for a bit more economic liberty, but somewhat more active government in other areas. You may be a Republican, though you might wince at some of the more extreme elements in the Republican Party at times…

Hi Queenbee; I don\’t side with anyone. I\’m Canadian. Still don\’t know what that means either. Perhaps a Canadian Centrist? Politics interests me as the only science that can\’t agree on anything anyway, so I guess I\’m in good company. I\’d take the quiz, but I don\’t wanna put my computer in the Hospital. lol! If you want my opinion, I think we should all take our borders down, band together and bomb Walmart! That\’s not an affiliation indication, it\’s an environmental pretection machanism…

That\’s why the instructions ask that you pick which one more closely relates to your views, otherwise the quiz would be too lengthy, and you know Liberals hate to read anything if there are too many words. The public outrage exhibited over what\’s happening on both sides of the aisles prove that there may be more Libertarians out there than we may think.

I came up a Libertarian. While the exercise was interesting, I found that in most cases the options were pretty stark and none of the options really expressed my views. Also many people may be for example Liberterian on Foreign policy but not Domestic and visa versa. Again interesting but not predictive.
