File this under Democratic Dominoes…
Governor David Paterson of New York announced Friday that he was suspending his election campaign.
In New York, it sure is tough to get an ethical Governor to serve its citizens.  First they had Eliot Spitzer who was forced to step down in disgrace over a prostitution scandal so they brought in the first black to govern…David Paterson.  He took over the governor’s job in 2008 when Spitzer resigned, and the term expires at the end of this year.  Now he’s under fire over his administration’s intervention in a domestic violence case involving a close aide amid crumbling support from his party and an uproar from his constituents—all this less than one week after he announced his full-term candidacy.  Timing is everything!  Paterson’s move follows reports he and state police spoke with a woman who last fall accused a top governor’s aide of assault.  After Paterson intervened and called her, the woman failed to appear in court and her case was then dismissed.  The case raised questions of possible inappropriate intervention by the governor and added to calls from state and national Democratic leaders for Paterson to withdraw.  I’m sure that the Democrats are very happy with Paterson’s decision not to seek reelection, and they’re placing their bets on Mario Cuomo for Governor.  Cuomo is a fierce opponent to the death penalty.  In 1994, Cuomo ran for a fourth term.  In that election, Republicans attacked him for his opposition to the death penalty by highlighting the case of Arthur Shawcross (a multiple murderer convicted of manslaughter who was paroled from New York in 1987 and upon his release, he became a serial killer).  Good luck to you, New York!  Here’s the story on Paterson…

Desiree Rogers with Obama at the White House.
Next up, we have another arrogant "after me, you come first" Democrat who is resigning.  White House social secretary Desiree Rogers, from Chicago, no less, is stepping down three months after taking heavy criticism for allowing gate crashers into the administration’s first state dinner.  She was too self-absorbed in her own world to worry about what was happening around her, and didn’t perform her duties as social secretary.  Since when does a social secretary attend a state dinner?  She should have been working along with her staff to make sure the event went according to plan, but as typical of a narcissist, she wanted to leave that to "the peasants" so she could prance around like a self-absorbed diva.
She is claiming she "pulled off a series of innovative, high-wattage events" that seemed to be doing just that, including getting the nation’s governors to dance in a conga line."  Well, that is quite an accomplishment, isn’t it?  She told the Chicago Sun-Times on Friday that she was leaving because she had achieved a major goal of the Obamas:  turning the White House into the "people’s house" by opening it up to many of those who normally do not get to visit.  Oh, really?  I beg to differ.  She actually opened up the White House to a serious security breach.  What she did succeed in doing is call attention to the ongoing security problems and also to herself…the latter which I’m sure she is enjoying right now.  Narcissists always like to be in the spotlight.  Just ask Obama.  Instead of turning the White House into the "people’s house", she helped turn it into a 3-ring circus.  Here’s the scoop on her…
Obama sure doesn’t procrastinate when it affects his "social" agenda.  It’s out with the old, in with the new in a flash as
Julianna Smoot, a prominent Democratic Party fundraiser, is quickly named to replace Desiree Rogers as social secretary.  Rogers is stepping down, and heeeeeeeeeeeeeereeee’s Smoot…
Smoot served as national finance director for Obama’s presidential campaign, helping raise $32.5 million during one quarter in 2007.  She has also served as finance director for then-Senate Democratic leader Tom Daschle and John Edwards’ successful Senate bid in 1998.  Well, isn’t that comforting?  She worked for two idiots who were both disgraced!  She doesn’t have a very good track record, but Obama overlooks that sort of important stuff in his appointees.  She has also held positions with Senators Richard Durbin of Illinois, one of the most liberal members in Congress and Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia, a long-time lobbier who got Toyota to build a manufacturing plant in his state (which I recently blogged about) and also the senator who stated that "the Internet should never have been invented" probably because he and the Liberal Elite have no control over it (for now, anyway).
In true "Continue-To-Blame-Bush" fashion, heading off expected criticism of the new aide’s fundraising background, a senior White House official is stating that "the social secretary for former President George W. Bush, Lea Berman, also had a fundraising pedigree."  What a bunch of worthless clowns!   Defending her even before she is in this position puts up a big red flag to me…
