Hasan has been charged with 13 preliminary counts of premeditated murder stemming from last week’s shooting at Fort Hood Army Post, and his pass and leave privileges have been revoked.  Well, that ought to teach him, huh?  Obama is calling Hasan a “gunman” and the FBI is calling him an “alleged gunman”.  Why are they so insistent on handling this scumbag with kid gloves.  They still haven’t learned to call it as it is—a radical Muslim terrorist who went on a murderous rampage targeting Americans, killing 14 people—twelve soldiers, one civilian and one unborn child—the media isn’t even including the unborn child as a casualty!  Why is Hasan not being charged with treason and terrorism?  Instead of our government defending the U.S. Constitution, they fiercely defend political correctness.  How obscene is that?  Our forefathers surely must be turning in their graves with what our government has become.  Political correctness in this country will be its downfall.  Hasan is a lot more than a murderer as news reporters are calling him; he is a radical Muslim terrorist, a traitor, and he should be charged as such…

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.”

The news reports are stating 13 victims, but I just learned that an unborn child was a victim in this massacre so I have included this unborn child among the victims.  My heart and prayers go out to the victims and their families.  I was moved to tears as I read this CNN story (link below) which gives a glimpse into the lives that were lost so tragically at the hands of a madman.  Pvt. Francheska Velez, 21, from Chicago, IL had recently returned from Iraq and was transferred to Fort Hood last week, and was a month away from returning home for maternity leave.  She was three months pregnant.  The agonizing pain that her family, and all the families are experiencing, are felt by each and every one of us.  Only God knows why Hasan did the unthinkable, and I feel that only God will be able to forgive him, at least for now.  We are still too angry, still too shocked.  This reminds me of the helplessness I felt on 9-11.  You may not think that prayers help, but they do.  God hears them, even when we don’t think He’s listening.  It will take a long time for the surviving families to get over this tragedy, but God is good, and He will comfort them in their time of sorrow.  He will embrace their loved ones, remove their pain and grant them eternal peace.  We will go on, and our hearts will be lifted by the wonderful memories these heroes have left behind.  America is proud of these great American heroes, and may we all be comforted in knowing that they are in God’s hands, and are now at peace…Amen.
I needed to get this out.  Thanks for listening…
I’ve listed the names, ages and ranks of the victims below; one is a civilian.  A link to the CNN story follows which includes their pictures.  When you see their pictures and read about them, it makes it all the more painful, all the more real…
