The head of the CIA defended the agency Friday against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s charge that she was misled in 2002 about the use of waterboarding, but he said it ultimately is up to Congress to decide where the truth lies.  He was quoted as saying, "Let me be clear.  It is not our policy or practice to mislead Congress," CIA Director Leon Panetta wrote in a message to agency employees that was released to the public.  That is against our laws and our values."

Pelosi drew the criticism a day after opening her weekly news conference with a statement accusing briefers of misleading her in 2002 in connection with the use of waterboarding, an interrogation technique that simulates drowning.  In the statement, she repeated that "she was not told that waterboarding had been used".

Several hours after Panetta circulated his message, Pelosi went into damage control by issuing a response that blamed the Bush administration rather than the CIA by name for any errors in connection with the briefings.  I’m wondering if this will be the excuse the House has been waiting for to dethrone this witch.  As far as the Obama Circus is concerned, if all else fails, blame Bush…

Here’s the link to the video of Pelosi’s Press Conference.  I can’t believe a word she says here.  When one member of the news media asked her, "Regardless of the individual who told you that these techniques were being used and regardless the venue in which you learned of this fact, does not the foreknowledge of the use of these techniques make you complicit in their use?  You say that Mr. Sheehy did tell you, your staff did tell you."

Pelosi tried to answer, stating, "He informed me that the briefing had taken place.  We were not in a place where he couldthat was all that he was required to do.  We’re not in a settingwe weren’t inI’m no longer the ranking member on intelligence."  [Well, that didn’t make a whole lot of sense, did it?  Sounds just as bad as Obama’s Uh…uh…uhs…]  "He just informed me and that the letter was sent. That is the proper person to send the letter, the ranking member of theof the Intelligence Committee.  So my statement is clear, and let me read it again.  Let me read it again. I’m sorry.  I have to find the page."

She then read word-for-word what she was "briefed" to say by her Democrat henchmen.  How much is believable is anyone’s guess, but I’m guessing that she’s throwing Bush and the CIA under the proverbial bus unjustly to save her own butt…and, it will come back to haunt her then she’ll come back for yet another press conference on this issue, if Obama doesn’t beat her to the punch.

Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio, the minority leader, said during the day that Democrats "want to have it both ways" on waterboarding by claiming they did not oppose it even though they criticize it.  Boehner also asked Obama in a recent White House meeting to release the CIA memos that describe the information gained through the use of waterboarding.  The documents clearly show that the tactics prevented terrorist attacks and saved lives.

In an embarrassment for the Obama administration, the director of national intelligence, Dennis Blair, told employees in a recent memo that interrogations that included waterboarding had secured useful intelligence.  He later issued a public statement that said it was not known whether the same information could have been obtained without harsh techniques—the same position Obama has taken.  I never saw a puppet show until I started watching the performances of the Obama administration…

When it rains, it pours…

You won’t see this story play out in its entirety on the left media channels, but Fox News is bringing this story front and center.  We’ll probably see the CIA retaliating against Pitbull Pelosi, and it won’t be pretty, especially since Obama was stupid enough to declassify the interrogation documents that kept America safe for 8 years under Bush.  I’m telling you, the great walls of justice and independence are crumbling under the Obama administration.

At a weekly news conference today, House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, repeated her assertion that she was "only briefed once" on the interrogation methods seven years ago and accused the CIA of "misleading Congress".  She stated, "Every step of the way, the administration was misleading the Congress and that is the issue and that’s why we need a truth commission."  I’d say we need a truth commission to critique what our Democrat-controlled Congress has been doing…

Pelosi Accuses CIA of Misleading Congress on Waterboarding

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday accused the CIA of misleading Congress about its use of enhanced interrogation techniques used on terror detainees.

"The CIA is misleading the Congress of the United States," she said before casting blame on the Bush administration.

"They mislead us all the time. The intelligence does not support the imminent threat that they are" suggesting, Pelosi said at her weekly news conference.

"Every step of the way the administration was misleading the Congress and that is the issue and that’s why we need a truth commission," she added.

Under a barrage of questioning, Pelosi also again adamantly insisted that she was not aware that waterboarding or other enhanced interrogation techniques were being used on terrorism suspects and

"I am telling you they told me they approved these and said they wanted to use them but said they were not using waterboarding," she said.

Growing increasingly frustrated throughout the briefing, Pelosi slowly started backing away from the podium as she tried to end the questioning. As she backed out, she continued to accuse the CIA of not telling Congress that dissenting opinions had been filed within the administration suggesting the methods were not lawful.

Pelosi said she was only briefed once on the interrogation methods in September 2002 and acknowledged that her intelligence aide, Michael Sheehy, informed her about another briefing five months later in which Bush officials said waterboarding was being used on CIA terror detainee Abu Zubaydah.

Pelosi said she supported a letter drafted by Rep. Jane Harman, D-Calif., the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee who also attended the briefing in February 2003, and sent to the Bush administration, raising concerns over the technique.

Pelosi’s account has changed several times in recent weeks as she has sought to clarify what she did or didn’t know about these interrogation methods that she is pushing to investigate.

Pelosi said last month that she was never told that the controversial interrogation methods were being used. But a national intelligence report showed that she was briefed seven years ago on the tactics while she was on the House Intelligence Committee.

Her spokesman then said the speaker thought the techniques were legal and waterboarding was not used.

Democrats will hold a series of hearings on Justice Department memos released last month that justified rough tactics against detainees, including waterboarding, simulated drowning, and sleep deprviation.

While Democrats want the hearings to focus on what they call torture, Republicans have tried to turn the issue to their advantage by complaining that Pelosi and other Democrats knew of the tactics but didn’t protest.

This is only the tip of the iceberg; sleep deprivation involved use of loud offensive music played at loop intervals, minimal food/drink and continual exercise regimes throughout the day designed to strain the weakened bodies to the limit this doesn\’t even cover the forced same sex acts and torture techniques.
