I’d like to give a bigto Walgreens!
I was reading an article about Walgreens in a health magazine about how they are hiring people with special needs, and I was so happy that a big company like that has finally realized what we all know:  People with disabilities are just as productive as the next person.
Walgreens recently opened a new distribution center where 40% of the employees have disabilities, but that wasn’t a deterrent from hiring them.  As a matter of fact, this particular distribution center outperformed all other distribution centers throughout the company by 20%!  Randy Austin, VP for Walgreens, has a son who has autism so he knows a lot about disabilities and the challenges it places on those afflicted and their families.  He also knows first-hand what they’re capable of accomplishing.  Talk about seeing the silver lining…
I went online and found this segment on the subject and thought I’d pass it along.  It melted my heart…
